General Rules of APA Format



There are many writing formats out there and one of those writing formats is APA format.   • Every page should include a running head at the top left. The running head is a shortened form of your title, only a few words.
  • According to APA format, your abstract should be in the range of 150 to 250 words, although this can vary depending upon the type of work or instructor requirements.
  • For in-text citation, give the author name followed by the year of publication. The detailed version of the source must be presented in the reference page at the end.
  • Titles of journals, books, magazines, newspaper and other published material should be mentioned in italics.
