Music, Way to Escape
What
to do when the heart gets a little heavy and all the basic mundane chores seem
to be too much? What to do when something seems off and you are unable to put
your finger on it and cannot find the right words to express that heavy
lingering feeling and you almost become desperate to lift it off of your chest,
where do you go to find an escape? For me, it has always been music, my
bittersweet escape. Ever wondered what music means to you and how it stirs up
so many inexplicable emotions inside of you? Let’s just say, music is different
to a lot of people, it can be a way of expressing things that we are too scared
to say, and since music has no language anyone can make sense of the emotions
that a piece of music is supposed to evoke inside of you.
Music
can either explode tons of expressions inside of you or it can tame and calm
the overwhelmingly exploding emotions that can become too much to handle. Music
takes you away from the harsh realities of life and teleports you into another
dimension that is too aesthetically pleasing and appealing. Maybe right now you must be asking yourself
what music means to you and why do you often find yourself humming a soft tune
that you heard the other day on the radio or how you catch your feet moving
with the rhythm of that one song from the late ’80s which your father played on
repeat. Music is the voice that speaks
volumes, it is no less than art that feeds the soul and fills the void in your
heart which otherwise seems to get wider. One good song and you feel like you
got the strength to lift up your spirit and go on to conquer the day. Name one
occasion where music does not fit? I bet there aren’t any. Feeling happy, put
on a song and grove along with the rhythm and let all the inhibitions go,
feeling sad, put on Billie Eilish may be and let all of that hurt go, a good
never disappoints.
I
believe you can tell a lot about a person from their playlist. Music fascinates
you, captivates you and offers the right amount of emotions and words to help
you make sense of anything that looks abstract and incomprehensible. Give 10
people the same song to listen and it is going to mean different to each one of
them, that’s the power of music. It cannot be fully grasped but it can definitely
give you something to hold on to, be a phrase, a note, or a memory.
